چکیده

In estrogen-dependent rat adrenocortical carcinomas, thymidine kinase activity decreased during tumor regression following removal of estrogen from the host. The change in the kinase activity could be prevented by estrogen administration but not by the administration of growth hormone or adrenocorticotropic hormone. The alterations in kinase activity were not due to changes in the activity of competing enzymes. Studies of the normal rat adrenal showed that the kinase activity of this tissue is independent of the estrogen supply of the host animal.

Hormonal effects on thymidine kinase and thymidylate kinase activity of estrogen-dependent tumors in the rat.

In estrogen-induced, estrogen-dependent, mammary and adrenocorlical carcinomas, the specific activities of t lie tliymidine kinasc and thymidylate kinase decreased significantly within 2 to 4 days after removal of the source of estrogen of the host. After 7 days, these changes were even more marked in the adrenal tumors. Similar changes were not observed in the activity of these enzymes in auto...

Exposure to cell phone radiofrequency changes corticotrophin hormone levels and histology of the brain and adrenal glands in male Wistar rat

Objective(s): Nowadays, the electromagnetic field-emitting devices are used routinely in our lives. Controversial reports exist concerning the effects of mobile radiofrequency (RF) on different parts of the body, especially stress hormones. The main goal of the present work was to study the long-term effects of mobile RF900 MHz exposure with special focus on the adrenal gland pathophysiology an...

Effects of Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes on Micro-Anatomical Changes of Adrenal Gland in Male Wistar Rats

Background & Aims: Changing the hormonal output of endocrine glands, diabetes leads to the occurrence of secondary metabolic disorders. Neuropathy, on the other hand, is the most common neurological complication of diabetes which affects the neuroendocrine system, in addition to peripheral and autonomic nervous system, contributing to exacerbation of disease severity. In this line, the present ...
